Auctions can be as serious or as fun as you like. A fund
raising auction is a fantastic way for your organization to get some exposure
and to get people to dig deep in their pockets for your cause. There are a few

various businesses and individuals to make donations towards your cause. These

services. All of these items will ensure your fund raising auction is a great
success.
If you want to make your fund raising auction into a bigger
event why not make a night of it? In the same way you can approach various
businesses to make donations for you to auction off. However you can go one
step further and organise a formal sit down dinner for before the auction. This
will give your guests time to peruse the items for auction and also means that
you can get more funds from selling tickets for the dinner itself.
In line with this you can also organise a ‘Bachelor
Auction’. These are just for fun, however can create a great social evening for
your fund raising auction. Normally you approach several men, or women for that
matter, and auction them off to the highest bidder. All of this is done in good
fun and depending on the crowd that you have could mean a very profitable
evening for your charity.
An important part of your fund raising auction will be to
find a good auctioneer. It seems a little pointless to go to the hard work of
organizing such an event if you are going to get an auctioneer who does not
appeal to your crowd and makes the event boring. You need someone who is going
to motivate the crowd and get them in a bidding frenzy. This may seems a little
difficult, however ask around or visit some local auction houses yourself to
get a feel of who to approach for your event. This person will normally donate
their time by offering to run your auction.
